On Our Plates: Pumpkins!

Yep, it’s that time of year.  I (Laura) have been resisting the lure of pumpkin because it seemed to start way too early this year.  It was still over 90 degrees and August, yet Pinterest was already flooded with pumpkin spiced everything.

But I can never resist the lure of pumpkin for long.  Plus, it’s mid-September now, the weather has cooled, and the farmer’s market is full of pumpkins like the ones pictured above.  Obviously, many of these are more fun to look at then eat, but it still puts you in an autumn mood.  Yep, I think it’s time to whip up a pumpkin treat, like these:

Bruleed Bourbon-Maple Pumpkin Pie from Bon Appetite – I made this last year for Thanksgiving, and it’s flat-out fantastic

Pumpkin Spice Latte from Real Simple – I know that there isn’t actually pumpkin in this latte recipe, but there’s pumpkin spice, which is close enough!

Bow Ties with Creamy Pumpkin and Parmesan from Aggie’s Kitchen – Let’s throw something savory in the mix.  This pasta looks really promising.

Caramel Stuffed Pumpkin Cookies by Cinnamon Spice and Everything Nice: Basically a pumpkin snickerdoodle filled with caramel.  This sounds amazing.

Pumpkin No Bake Energy Bites by Gimme Some Oven: This is a healthier way to indulge your pumpkin cravings.

Drunken Pumpkin Bourbon Tart by Leite’s Culinaria: Yep, another dessert with bourbon.  I’m obsessed.  I also happen to love pumpkin pie, so I will be making this soon.
